JOB SUMMARY
Candidates must have knowledge, skill and interest in teaching Educational Psychology and Adolescent Development. Preferred candidates will be expected to meet the traditional requirements of excellence in teaching, active scholarly and professional work, and service to the University and community. We are seeking candidates who have a passion for teaching and learning. This position is an open rank position whereby the successful candidate can be appointed at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank.
The successful candidate is expected to:

• Design and teach courses in Educational Psychology and Adolescent Development particularly in the Secondary credential program and at graduate levels.
• Implement high impact instructional strategies in their teaching.
• Implement high impact advising practices.
• Work with credential and graduate students within PK-12 school settings.
• Participate in committee assignments at the department, college, and university-wide levels.
• Supervise student teachers through a large service region (San Bernardino and Riverside Counties)
• Engage in research /publication and/or creative activities.
• Advise, coach, and mentor credential and graduate students.
• The skills and dispositions to work with diverse students, colleagues, and community members.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Earned doctorate in education-Educational Psychology and Adolescent Development or related field by the time of appointment. ABD at the time of application will be considered; however, earned doctorate at the time of hire is required.
• Experience in PK-12 schools characterized by diverse populations and contexts.
• Demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in university teaching, research, and service to the university and to the profession.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with people from diverse populations.
• Strong commitment to the quality of student learning and program excellence in alignment with the college's mission.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• A demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with a broad, diverse community.
• A minimum three years of experience in PK-12 schools characterized by diverse populations and contexts.
• Expertise in instructional practices for teaching Educational Psychology and Adolescent Development including practices for teaching diverse students.
• Graduate and credential course teaching experience or equivalent.
• Skills to design and accommodate a variety of learning activities, including online and blended learning, flexible teaching methods, and applied learning approaches.
• Experience in academic advising.
• Demonstrated experience in program coordination and leadership.
• Demonstrated experience of outreach to local PK-12 schools and districts.
• Evidence of research commensurate with experience.
• Record of (or strong potential for) externally funded research.
• A willingness to learn and apply knowledge of California credentialing regulations, and local, state, and national trends.
