Job Summary
Incumbent is supervised by Director of Student Life and Development and led by Associate Director of Club Sports and Recreation. Incumbent is responsible and accountable to the CSU Long Beach Club Sports and Recreation Department and the Division of Student Affairs to coach various club sports. Incumbent may act only in those areas in which they have assigned by the Club Sports and Recreation Department. A Club Sport team is first and foremost a student organization to be administered by elected student leaders. The Coach will interface with the Club Sports leadership and Club Sports & Recreation Department.
Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student centered and equity minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Demonstrated skill in assisting and speaking with persons of various ages, socio-economic, cultural and/or education backgrounds.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Equivalent to six months of experience performing related support services for an instructional program.

Compensation
The salary range for this classification is $16 to $20 per hour.
Time Base
Hourly/intermittent on call temporary position. Temporary appointments may be cancelled at any time. Successful candidates may be appointed for a few days and up to one (1) year depending on the assignment. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
