Position Information
This is a full-time, emergency temporary position.
**Successful candidates in emergency temporary appointments may not exceed one hundred eight (180) days.

The salary range for this classification is minimum: $3,120.00 - maximum: $4,592.00
Major Duties
Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean and in collaboration with the Chair of the Occupational Therapy Department, the incumbent's primary duties involve moderate to complex clerical work assignments in support of the Occupational Therapy department, which include daily operational as well as special event tasks related to supporting curriculum implementation, fieldwork files, admission process, student progression, and faculty support. Assignments include planning and coordinating work activities with relative independence, communicating effectively, and meeting deadlines. The incumbent will utilize a full range of office support technology and systems to enter data, generate reports, and maintain databases. Work often involves front line contacts with a variety of campus and community individuals requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Completion of a high school program or its equivalent and some experience in an office environment, typically two years.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience to be proficient in performing most or all work assignments.
General working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices.
Fluency in using standard office software packages.
Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Ability to learn, interpret independently, and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures. Able to identify deviations from applicable policies.
Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and, at times, creative solutions.
Ability to perform standard arithmetic functions of a transactional nature, including tracking and comparing data.
Work often involves front line contacts with a variety of campus and community individuals requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated competence in effectively presenting standard information in writing.
Demonstrated competence in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas, and instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Master of Occupational Therapy Policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
50% Assist the department chair and provide general clerical assistance and staff support such as typing, photocopying, generating reports, distributing materials and maintaining files corresponding to the Occupational Therapy Program. Function as primary receptionist by answering incoming telephone calls, greeting, screening, and monitoring visitors and directing as appropriate. For both telephone calls and visitors, answer routine inquiries as appropriate. Act as liaison between students and faculty within the Department. If needed, assist faculty with grade submission and administrative paperwork for their courses.
40% Provide clerical support for the MS in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) Program such as typing, filing, photocopying materials and providing assistance for/at student and alumni events. Maintain files and documents. Assist the Fieldwork Coordinator, chair, and faculty in establishing and maintaining administrative files for the fieldwork placements in the MSOT Program.
10% Perform other duties and assignments as required or assigned.
