Medical Front Desk receptionist arranges for efficient and orderly checking in and out of patients for eye surgeons.

Locations: Primarily working out of Whittier, with potential to work in West Covina, Whittier, Pomona, Pasadena offices. May require travel between offices

Full Time Position: 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri; hours 8:30a to 5:00p

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Registers patients and ensures that accurate information is collected and that patients are made aware of office policies.
• Schedules all appointments, collects payments, enters charges, and issues receipts.
• Provides referrals and maintains smooth operations of all front desk activities at all times.
• Comfortable with checking insurance authorizations.
• Triages all incoming telephone calls/faxes and routes to appropriate person.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• One year experience in healthcare setting required. Ideally experience in an ophthalmology or optometry office.
• High School Graduate with computer experience (must be comfortable with Electronic Medical Record software as well as Microsoft Word and Excel).
• Good writing and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment required given some clients are cosmetic patients.
