About the Sales and Experiences Team:This position is part of the Sales and Experiences Team which is part of the Experience Division. Our team purpose is as follows: Together, we create and amplify compelling experiences that inspire our audiences to develop deeper connections with science, nature, and each other. Key Responsibilities:Lead a team in developing and delivering mission-driven programming for museum guests, ensuring programs and activities are designed to be culturally relevant, scientifically sound, age-appropriate, and appealing to our guestsResponsible for business oversight for the Enhanced Experiences department including development and management of budgets and achieving revenue goals of $1M Develop a strategic plan to develop new programs and improve existing programs to drive revenueWork with marketing to develop marketing messages to drive program participationManage, constantly improve, and deliver programs including but not limited to tours, birthday parties, special event programming, virtual events, and scavenger hunts to guests at the highest level of guest serviceManage all aspects of all programs including but not limited to the following: sell/market events, manage the program from start to finish, program schedule and programming, staffing, budget, event logistics, and post-event survey and resultsMonitor and analyze KPIs including program attendance and sales trends, marketing performance, and customer feedbackProvide excellent customer service, respond to guest requests to sell programs, create guest accounts in POS (Point of Sale System), and run required reportsContinuously research, study, explore and learn more about the Academy and external opportunities to develop new programsPartner with Academy departments to create new content and ensure mission alignmentMeet and interact with Academy VIP guests as requestedAvailability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight programs is requiredRecruit, train, supervise, support, and develop full and part-time team membersDevelop and manage team schedules to make sure all programs are staffed appropriatelyConduct regular team meetings, one-on-ones, quarterly performance reviews, and professional development activitiesPerform other job-related duties as assignedQualifications: A successful candidate will have the following:Experience and/or Education:BA or BS or relevant experience in program development and business3 years of experience in the development of programs for all ages4 years of managing a team of two or more members3 years of business development and sales experienceExperience developing strategic plans with measurable goals, managing budgets, and forecasting revenueSkill and Abilities: Ability to engage with audiences with high energy, creativity, and enthusiasm Ability to provide excellent customer service, speak confidently, and write effectivelyAbility to develop and manage expense and revenue budgetsAbility to develop creative and engaging content and programmingAbility to use Google Suite and operate tour headset technology, POS system, and other tools and software as requiredExperience working with children Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to develop contentPhysical Environment: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.
