POSITION TITLE: Research Programmer Intern

Responsibilities And Duties

• Design and manage web pages
• Update and debug code for existing systems
• Work with existing databases to fetch and display data
• Details of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Must currently be enrolled in a programming related major (computer science, data science, software engineering, etc.)
• Experience programming in:
  • Javascript
  • Python
  • Java
• Ability to work productively both independently and with other colleagues
• Excellent organizational skills, problem solving skills, and ability to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications

• Experience programming in perl
• Experience with UNIX based operating systems
• Experience working with relational databases, preferably postgresql

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May include: Stationary position for an extended period of time, traverse campus/facility as needed, operate machinery such as computer, phone, copy machine; exposure to cold or hot temperatures.

COMPENSATION

The expected hiring range for this position is $16.30 to $19 per hour, commensurate with experience.
