JOB
Manages, maintains and oversees the development of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute’s (CCC&TI) website and other web-based communication products.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Examples of Duties Essential and other responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Essential Functions: Exercises authority over information posted to the CCC&TI web server(s) or web-related communication products and presentation in terms of design and method of delivery.Designs and develops professional-grade web pages for CCC&TI's internet and other web-related communication products, including the incorporation of graphics, HTML, multimedia, databases, and other web-based technologies that enhance the service level provided to CCC&TI's students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.Assesses and recommends resources, software, and other technology for the website.Collaborates with web host to ensure regular security and maintenance of the institution's web server or servers.Maintains an optimized Word Press environment by installing software updates or upgrades, adding plug-ins, managing user accounts, and granting or restricting access to editors as needed.Works with the Director, Branding and Marketing, Public Information Officer, Digital Media Specialist and Graphics Coordinator to warrant the integrity and quality of our editorial content and ensure the web is current and consistent with the institution's overall written and visual messaging.Works closely with department heads in all areas of the institution to add, maintain, update, and enhance content optimized for intended audiences and stakeholders.Collaborates with the Communications and Public Relations Team and Executive leadership to select and train individuals in various areas of the institution to help maintain certain content areas, and clearly communicates parameters in which those changes can be made.Utilizes Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles to enhance visibility, increase traffic to the site from a variety of search engines, and improve the online digital experience for all stakeholders.Interprets analytics for decision-making purposes. Marginal Functions: Develops original copy for the web sites or rewrites/reuses existing marketing pieces using online copywriting guidelines.Produces original photography/video for use on web site and possible use in print marketing materials.Collaborates with designers and colleagues in and outside the department.Participate in professional development activities and required employee training.Perform other duties as assigned. This position description covers the most essential functions and duties associated with this position. The President or appropriate supervisory personnel may assign additional duties. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Experience: One year of increasingly full-time responsible professional Web Development/Design experience required. Three years’ full-time experience and/or project management experience preferred. Training: An associate degree from accredited college or university with major course work in Computer Programming, Web Development/Design, Graphic Design, Communications or another related field is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

About Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute

In 1964, CCC&TI opened its doors as Caldwell Technical Institute. The college first began offering classes in 1966 in health occupations and adult basic education at a temporary site located in the Dulatown community. By fall 1967, new facilities opened and hosted some 260 curriculum students. The college continued to grow and expand, adding college transfer courses to its offerings in 1969, officially becoming "Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute" the following year. Since the college's humble beginnings in the early 1960's, CCC&TI has grown by leaps and bounds, adding faciliti...es to its Caldwell Campus including a job training center, increased classroom space and buildings, the Broyhill Civic Center, the John A. CCC&TI has also added new facilities in Watauga County and offerings for students in that area continue to grow. Today, CCC&TI offers hundreds of day and evening courses as well as online courses designed to fit any schedule or lifestyle. Students may choose from curriculum programs, a variety of corporate and continuing education courses, and adult education options. The college serves as a state and national model in offering a seamless education with a high school, community college and university presence all on the same property. Through cooperative efforts with the public school system and widespread support from the community, the Caldwell Campus also houses the innovative Caldwell Early College High School and Career Center Middle College.
