Some of the qualifications are listed below:Shift Time: 2:45pm - 11pm SUMMARYResponsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on equipment, machines and facilities to ensure the production operation is continuous and efficient.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms tasks as instructed and works shifts as assigned by management including mandatory OT as needed.Performs various maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to the diagnosis and repair of electrical problems, diagnosis and repair of machines and equipment, building repairs, general maintenance, preventative maintenance, boiler/plumbing repairs and other tasks as needed.Utilizes mechanical skills and knowledge of electricity, pneumatics, PLC’c, welding, cutting, and equipment operation to make repairs to facilitate the production operation and maintain the facility.Performs diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures on PLC controllers and VFD’s. Performs repairs, replacements, and programming.Responsible for communication with Maintenance Staff and Production Management to ensure efficient operation of the production process.Responsible for working with contractors and vendors to facilitate repair of equipment and installation of new equipment.Performs preventive maintenance tasks and inspections, as required, based on manufacturer’s specifications.Maintains all records related to repairs, inspections and/or preventative maintenance tasks.Communicate with vendors and suppliers as needed to ensure parts meet required specifications.Participates in training programs, as needed, to upgrade or maintain skills.Performs all work to meet local, state, and federal codes.Responsible for attending and participating in assigned training sessions related to GMPs, SOPs, HACCP and SQF; applying and demonstrating obtained knowledge and following all procedures and policies related to food safety.Responsible for keeping work area safe and clean.Adheres to all safety guidelines for job performed.Performs related duties as assigned by management.PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENTOccasionally required to lift and pull up to 100 pounds.Required to work while standing for periods up to 2 hours.Regularly required to bend, reach, pull, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach.Required to work in hot and cold environments.Perform work at heights using high reach equipment along with fall harnesses.Perform medium to heavy duty work tasks.QUALIFICATIONS5 years of demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and repair packaging equipment and general manufacturing plant equipment.Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic problems on high-speed industrial equipment used in the food processing industry.Proficient in performing various maintenance tasks- carpentry, plumbing, welding (MIG, TIG, SMAW), cutting, and the ability to operate the appropriate tools to perform tasks.Experience using lathes, press brakes, drill presses and other machinery used in custom fabrication.Experience performing electrical maintenance related tasks on systems ranging from 24VDC to 480VACExperience programming, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing PLC’s and VFD’s.Must supply own hand tools appropriate to the equipment and environment. (metric and SAE where applicable), tool box, multimeter, etc.Skilled in the use of various hand tools- powered and non-powered, precision measuring tools, forklift, high reach equipment, and other tools/equipment required to perform industrial maintenance tasks.Ability to read and understand technical drawings and equipment manuals.Knowledge of boilers, water treatment systems, and compressed air systemsKnowledge of electrical systems and equipment: including pumps, generators, and electric motors.Strong understanding of industrial equipment, including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance practices.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSDegree or Certificate of Completion of an accredited industrial maintenance program.Stainless welding is highly desired.HVAC experience is a plus.PERSONAL DEVELOPMENTProficiency in the use of Excel, Word, Outlook, and other web-based applications.Ability to communicate, write legibly, and speak in English.Ability to act as a steward to promote facility safety in all areas of the plant.Possess the desire to share knowledge, train, and/or mentor the Mechanic 1 classification, apprentices, interns, and other job classifications as needed.Have a Can Do/Will Do approach and attitude towards all tasks pertaining to the position as well as any other task or duty assigned by management.Desire to grow current knowledge base through onsite and/or 3rd party training relating to specific facility/processing machinery, fabrication needs, regulatory compliance, etc. MAY REQUIRE TRAVEL.PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENTSafety eyewear is required.Protective clothing, hair net and gloves are required.A respirator, hard hat, welding helmet and other PPE may be required based on tasks being performed.
