Position Title: Director of National Accounts Reports To: EVP of Sales
Department: Sales Status: Exempt
Position Purpose:
The Director of National Accounts will be responsible for managing national account growth and development and assist our business partners to acquire new business throughout the United States.
Essential Job Functions: The Director of National Accounts must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Effective leadership and management of outside sales professionals throughout the U.S. to enhance the sales team and grow market share.
  • Assisting our national account partners with account development through growth opportunities and helping to build a substantial pipeline that will result in achieving revenue goals.
  • Skillfully tracking market and business trends to anticipate upcoming changes and opportunities in order to exceed revenue objectives.
  • Expertly presenting products to national account partners, corporate influencers, and decision makers at prospective dealerships.
  • Develop close relationships with our business partners at the corporate executive and regional field levels
  • Account development through prospecting, cold-calling and re-activating previous business to identify business opportunities, building a substantial pipeline that will result in achieving revenue goals
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • At least five years of successful sales experience with solid account development results.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role, developing, teaching, mentoring and coaching team members.
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • The nature of this position entails supervising staff, to include interviewing, hiring, ongoing training, assignment delegation and follow through; as well as, periodic performance evaluation and disciplinary action when necessary.
In addition, a qualified applicant will have:
  • Must be able to travel 50% or more of the time.
  • Must be passionate about mentoring people and building the business.
  • Individual needs to be willing and competent with presentations and demonstrations/applications of automotive products at dealerships.
  • Experience in auto after-market sales preferred
  • Previous experience in a leadership role, developing, teaching, mentoring, and coaching team members
  • Exceptional communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels to include executive management.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and follow through to resolution
  • MS Office and Outlook proficiency and knowledge of CRM

  • Ability to work independently and quickly, and as part of team to execute tasks
  • Strong reporting skills a must, with ability to analyze data and effectively communicate trends
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and acceptable driving record
Work Environment:
The majority of job responsibilities are performed while outdoors with exposure to a variety of weather condition and hazards. Some flex hours will be required (must be able to work nights and weekends on a non-routine basis).
Contacts:
Interaction will occur with all levels of employees and management, outside vendors and contractors in the performance of the job duties as they relate to the Director of National Accounts. Interaction will generally entail the exchange and gathering of information and responding to questions and requests from Operations leaders.
