Position Title: Automotive Technical Advisor

Reports To: Chemical Engineer

Status: Exempt .

Department: Operations

Position Purpose:

The Automotive Technical Advisor has a high level of knowledge on automotive detailing and interior repair and is responsible for assisting in automotive product application demonstrations and addressing questions and concerns from the CalTex Sales and Claims Departments. This role will also be responsible for developing robust product application training programs and videos.

Essential Job Functions: The Automotive Technical Advisor must be able to perform all the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Train on product application and use. To include onsite training as well as video meetings and recorded training videos.
Visit dealerships with Sales for the purpose of demonstrating, training, and troubleshooting on product application, as needed.
Assists with new and revised product beta testing, and field evaluations.
Makes recommendations as to severity of claims that are beyond field repair and assist claims department on potential time estimations for repairs.
Make recommendations for product improvements of existing products.
Perform product demonstrations for visitors on site.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required, with at least 3 years of related work experience required.
At least 3 years of In-field mobile technician / detailing experience.

In addition, a qualified applicant will have:

Must be able to travel 25% or more of the time.
Strong organizational and computer skills.
Strong problem solving and time management skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels to include executive management. Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish, preferred.
Ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and follow through to resolution.
Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and acceptable driving record

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

The Technical Advisor will be expected to perform physical activity, such as, walking lifting, bending and standing on hard surfaces for an extended period of time, and be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Will be regularly exposed to loud machinery and have some exposure to hazardous material. Most job responsibilities are performed in a warehouse/shop environment with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and hazards. Some flex hours will be required (must be able to work nights and weekends on a non-routine basis).

Interaction will occur with all levels of employees and management, outside vendors and contractors in the performance of the job duties as they relate to the Technical Advisor. Interaction will generally entail the exchange and gathering of information and responding to questions and requests from leaders.
