West Coast FOH Opportunity with Chef Daniel Boulud's restaurant group @ Café Boulud - Beverly Hills
The Dinex Group LLC, management company of Chef Daniel Boulud, is looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to oversee all daily operations for our newest West Coast restaurant. Slated to open on the ground floor of the Mandarin Oriental Residences in Q2, it will mark a new standard in both living and dining — transforming a home into a destination, for both residents and the broader LA community.
Café Boulud is inspired by Daniel Boulud’s four culinary muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, flavors of world cuisine.

The Assistant General Manager is a full-time salary position that is responsible for consistently providing restaurant guests with friendly and professional service as well as ensuring 100% guest satisfaction. This team leader must help oversee the front of house floor staff, ensuring that they abide by the policies and procedures of the restaurant. The Assistant General Manager will circulate during service time, paying particular attention to the bar/lounge and close the restaurant as scheduled.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with training, staffing, and scheduling front-of-house team
- Participate actively in pre-shift meetings
- Assist with inventory and purchasing, taking into account profitability and cost control
- Work closely with the General Manager & Senior Management to assist in any additional tasks
- Maintain restaurant and resolve any general issues that arise
- Be knowledgeable of all menu items, preparation, and ingredients
- Participate in achieving the overall GOP in dollars as well as labor cost percentage
- Participate in payroll forecast and make necessary adjustments to meet budget
- Organize frequent training for of the Dining Room staff
- Ensure compliance will all labor laws
Competencies & Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of French cuisine and wines
- Four years of service experience with at least 2 in management, preferably in a fine dining environment
- Computer Proficient
- Actively practice food safety procedures
- Ability to train and motivate team
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective time management
- Professional demeanor
- Positive and clear written and oral communication skills
- Ability to engage guests successfully and build a relationship
- Impeccable grooming as defined by management and dress code
