Company Overview

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Licensing, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance across all aspects of our operations. You will lead our efforts to create and maintain a culture of safety, ensuring that our facilities, programs, and practices consistently meet or exceed regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develop and Implement Safety Policies and Procedures: Design and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures tailored to the unique needs of our early childhood educational programs. Ensure that all policies are up-to-date, clearly communicated to staff, and consistently enforced.2. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of all relevant local, state, and federal regulations governing early childhood education, health, and safety. Ensure that our programs and facilities remain in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.3. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments of our facilities, programs, and activities to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and enhance safety across the organization.4. Training and Education: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for staff on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements. Ensure that all staff members receive appropriate training and ongoing education to effectively fulfill their roles in maintaining a safe environment for children.5. Incident Management: Establish protocols for responding to and managing safety incidents, accidents, and emergencies. Lead investigations into safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.6. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, human resources, and program management, to integrate safety considerations into all aspects of our operations. Communicate regularly with senior leadership to provide updates on safety initiatives, compliance status, and emerging risks.7. Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement in safety and compliance practices throughout the organization. Regularly review and assess the effectiveness of safety programs and procedures, soliciting feedback from staff and stakeholders to identify opportunities for enhancement.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be a successful leader of people, have strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team. • Must be able to decide how to allocate people, time and other resource to create, execute, and accomplish an operating or project plan on time and within budget. • Must have solid analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to utilize the appropriate management techniques to plan, organize, control and coordinate activities. • Must be able to manage priorities in a dynamic environment and adapt to change quickly and positively. • Must demonstrate ability to be self-directed, as well as demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills. • Must be able to work as a team member with peers, other managers, staff and leadership. • Must possess good customer service and communications skills, the ability to work with professionals and maintain confidentiality standards.• Requires ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Education or equivalency:

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in education, safety management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.• Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

• Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience licensing, safety management, regulatory compliance, or a related field, with specific experience in early childhood education highly desirable.Certification/licensure:

• Project Management Professional preferred. • Crisis Management Certification preferred.
