CADECO is Hiring a DISTILLERY OPERATOR Near Houston, TX

Position: Distillery Operator

Department: Distillery

Job Summary: The Distillery Operator is responsible of monitoring and operating all functions of the distillery process. The Distillery Operator must plan, direct and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for production.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Must have ability to open and close manual valves in accordance with process schedule.
  • Monitoring and operating all functions of the distillery process- grain handling, mashing, fermentation, distillation, barreling and processing.
  • Monitoring gauges and/or valves to verify the appropriate temperatures and flows are being maintained throughout the process.
  • Performing regular testing throughout fermentation and distilling process to determine necessary information is within specifications.
  • Cleaning of all tanks by rinsing after cooking or fermentation is complete.
  • Responsible for routine minor maintenance and preventive maintenance.
  • Filling out necessary paper work to track progress of distillery process and processing all logs into production system.
  • Comply with all necessary Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Safety requirements.
  • Maintaining a high level of housekeeping within the assigned area and other surrounding areas.
  • Supervise the paperwork, ensure all the reports are properly and timely issued, and verify the validity of the production information by checking all the documents on a daily basis.
  • Analyze the utilization of materials and ingredients and continuously look for alternatives to reduce waste and scrap.
  • Coordinate the sanitation activities and make sure the proper culture is promoted, to make every employee aware and accountable for the sanitation of all the areas in the facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Education and Experience

  • Relevant operating experience in breweries.
  • Demonstrated teamwork capability and can-do attitude.
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Have strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Basic computer skills; 
  • Self- starter, work independently and very organized. 
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant process operating experience in any of the following environments- distilling / brewing / food manufacturer and or the equivalent process technical training with demonstrated achievements.
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Bilingual is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
