Pay:

This is a full time hourly/non-exempt position.Pay may vary depending on your location, skills, and experience.

Location/Travel Requirements: 100% travel throughout the MidWest

Job Summary

A working foreman is responsible for the direction, guidance, safety health and welfare, of all site staff including documentation and execution of the day-to-day field operational needs of the individual project. The Foreman assists the Superintendent in managing the day-to-day crews and sub-contractors. They ensure safe working conditions, everyone is trained and understands all hazards of each job site, and what is taking place with respect to productivity.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Is directly responsible for leading and working along with a crew which consist of Journeyman, Apprentices, Operators, and Groundmen. This position will lay out work and make certain that materials, tools, equipment and information are on the job site in the proper locations to meet construction schedules. Position interacts with Superintendent or Project Manager and on smaller projects may oversee complete installation. Possesses Journeyman license where required.
  • Must be able to report to assigned job site location on time or as directed.
  • Has ability to monitor work in progress.
  • Accurately has ability / knowledge to fairly evaluate fellow employees work performance.
  • Train field personnel in technical skills and safety methods
  • Communicate to the crew, subcontractors and owner to maintain a good working relationship.
  • Inventory, record keeping, organization and usage of materials required
  • Read and Understand all contract requirements and paperwork documentation
  • Directing, scheduling, addressing disciplinary or employment issues, and approving timesheets of crew

Working Conditions:

  • Job may require working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, or snow.
  • Job may require operation of equipment in all elements without climate control.
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities. (Porta-johns).
  • Job requires employee to have always required hand tools with them while at work site.
  • Must always wear personnel protective equipment. (i.e., Hard hats, safety glasses, safety harnesses as required).
  • Repetitive use of arms, legs, hands, and fingers.
  • Ability to work 9 hours per day, 45 hours per week and additional, as required, with little or no advanced notice.

Physical Requirements:

(the employee should be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations):

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to lift, by oneself, work- loads of up to 50 lbs.
  • Climb out of holes dug for installation of underground facilities
  • Possess good vision / hearing. (Normal or corrected).
  • Ability to work while constantly moving on one's feet.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • Minimum 4 years of previous experience
  • High School diploma or GED

  • Active Valid Driver's License

Preferred:

  • Active Valid CDL A Driver's License

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
