Position Overview:
Our firm is currently seeking a Senior Splunk Software Engineer within the Columbia, Maryland area. As a Senior Splunk Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Design and develop software solutions by analyzing stakeholder requirements and conferring with users or system engineers
- Design and implement software solutions to complex problems
- Develop software system installation or build procedures or scripts
- Analyze and resolve system performance issues (e.g. response time or timing problems, interface/integration problems, system bottlenecks, data flow issues) Preferred: Ability to develop analytics Ability to build a new Splunk instance to replace an existing system’s capabilities and modernize/improve; including: analyzing requirements, designing and sizing Splunk architectures, crafting ingest capabilities, data modeling, solutions development, dashboard designing, and Splunk Enterprise Security administration.
- Eight (8) years of experience as a software engineer is also required. OR A Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required. Six (6) years of experience as a software engineer is also required. OR A High School Diploma (or GED) with fourteen (14) years of software engineering experience is required.
- Design and develop software solutions by analyzing stakeholder requirements and conferring with users or system engineers.
- Design and implement software solutions to complex problems.
- Manages complex, multiple, competing priorities and cross- functional projects, to include architecting Splunk environments. Interacts closely with cross-functional groups and their leaders. Understands customer specifications and collaborates across the Splunk product and technical organization to develop and deliver the right solution for the customer and to drive feature innovation.
- Splunk Certified User, Splunk Certified Power User, Splunk Certified Admin, Splunk Accredited Core Implementation, and/or Splunk Accredited Consultant
- Developed Splunk applications leveraging [Splunk, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and/or Python]
- Experience with the normalization of data into the Common Information Models for integration into IT Service Intelligence Modules for Splunk
- Experience in the building of custom dashboards at the executive level to provide insight into current and emerging threats
