C.L. Insurance Agency is Hiring an Administrative Assistant/Office Assistant Near Flushing, NY

Work Description: Insurance Office/Administrative Assistant

Full Time

Bilingual (Mandarin/English) highly preferred, Cantonese as a bonus

Position Overview

  • Client interaction: Interact with clients in a professional and friendly manner. Assist with inquiries, policy updates, and claim submissions. Provide accurate information about insurance products, services, and coverage details. Address client concerns or direct them to the appropriate department. Willing to take calls or make them as needed.
  • Policy Processing: Assist in processing insurance policies, endorsements, and renewals. Review applications for completeness and accuracy. Prepare necessary documentation, such as certificates of insurance or proof of coverage.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client information, policy details, and communication. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Organize and archive files for easy retrieval.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues and insurance agents to ensure seamless operations. Share information, assist with special projects, and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Desk Management: There will be a lot of accounts that need to be serviced. Will need to be able to juggle these accounts, while also dealing with assigned tasks, emails, and phone calls without constant supervision.

Compensation:

$18-$22/hr

Salary Range: $38,500 - $55,000

Please note that the salary range provided for this position is exclusive of bonuses

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent: additional education or certification in insurance or office administration is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in progress or equivalent education is also acceptable.
  • Bilingual proficiency is highly preferred: Chinese (Mandarin Priority, Cantonese as a bonus) and English
  • Proven experience of at least 1 year in a clerical or customer service role is highly preferred

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficient in using office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Customer-focused mindset with a friendly and helpful attitude
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products
