C&I Engineering is looking for a talented and driven individual to join our team!

About the opportunity: Electrical Designer
We are currently seeking a full-time Electrical Designer in our office to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Power & Controls team which is responsible for developing designs for electrical, instrument and control systems and performing a variety of computer-based design, engineering, and planning tasks on projects. C&I is a full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides instrument and electrical designs for multi-discipline projects.
  • Resolving coordination conflicts effectively, negotiating win-win solutions to multi-discipline project design issues.
  • Uses vendor documents, coordination prints, surveys, and models to check dimensions, determine interface points, determine physical space requirements, and provide information to other departments.
  • The Electrical Designer ensures accuracy, completeness, and consistency in the work produced in concert with project team objectives and customer expectations.
  • Uses codes, standards, and procedures identified by more senior engineers and designers to guide the development of deliverables. Is aware of industry and client standards. Knows how to locate and apply current versions.
  • The Electrical Designer creates drawings in AutoCAD and MicroStation. 

Minimum requirements:

  • Graduation from a two-year technical college with specialized training in computer-aided mechanical, electrical, or architectural drafting and design. 
  • Related work experience including preparing construction documents in a multi-discipline engineering environment demonstrating a progressive increase in responsibility and technical difficulty of work.
  • Develops technical and leadership skills through independent self-development, formal training and on-the-job opportunities
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel may be up to 10%
  • Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any required background checks.
  • Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
  • Valid Driver’s License
