Responsibilities:
- Prepare equipment for refinishing and assist Paint Technicians with their work, including sanding, masking, priming, and keeping Paint Technicians informed of work progress.
- Adhere to safety and OSHA guidelines and use required safety protection.
Duties:
- Assist Paint Technician in preparing equipment and parts for painting using proper techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Clean surfaces by removing grease, dirt, paint, or rust in preparation for paint application.
- Apply paper and masking tape to protect non-painted surfaces.
- Collaborate with the paint team to maintain the equipment schedule.
- Maintain all tools and equipment and ensure a clean and organized workspace.
- Ensure cleanliness in the paint area, including the prep station, paint booth, and paint mix/storage rooms.
- May assist in general maintenance of the paint booth.
- Aid in reassembling equipment as needed.
- Utilize required safety equipment and follow refinishing procedures in compliance with OSHA and C&E Rentals safety guidelines.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Experience and Skills:
- Entry-level position with training provided.
- Preferred prior paint-prep experience, including sanding, masking, prepping, and blending.
- Ability to work well with others and follow directions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, squat, and pull.
- Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping.
- Lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Standing, sitting, walking, and performing repetitive motions.
- Visual acuity for color matching.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to paint, fumes, particles, dirt/dust, chemicals/toxins, and varying heat/cold.
- Intermittent noise.
