A small to mid-size construction company is looking to fill the position of Safety Director. This position has a wide variety of duties that center on the safety of construction work sites. As Safety Director, you will visit various job sites and conduct safety inspections, identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems. This position also conducts annual employee training on applicable state and federal safety standards. This position will review safety training and recommend revisions, improvements, and updates.

Duties/ Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

• Maintains the OSHA safety log and ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
• Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
• Stops operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
• Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
• Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
• Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
• Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
• Reviews accident and incident reports.
• Ability to travel as required to conduct safety inspections.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities to include but not limited to:

• Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct training.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record

Education and Experience:

• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered for employment into the position.
• At least five years of occupational health and safety experience in a construction environment required.
