Overview

Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for optimizing digital systems? We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Analyst to join our dynamic IT team. As an IT Analyst providing mission-essential support to Joint Force Headquarters National Capitol Region (JFHQ-NCR), Military District of Washington (HQ MDW) and Department of the Army (DA) Counterparts, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, security, and effectiveness of our information technology infrastructure. The position will require routine interface with senior system users, and senior analysts both within and outside of the Directorate to include the supporting U.S. Army Signal Network Enterprise Center. Ability to plan, track and present IT progress to Senior Leadership is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze mission requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
  • Evaluate existing systems and applications to identify opportunities for improvement, optimization, and automation.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues, resolving them in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Manage and maintain software applications, ensuring updates, patches, and configurations are up to date.
  • Assist in the implementation of new software and hardware solutions, including system installations and upgrades.
  • Monitor system performance and security, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Create and maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, and user guides.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to develop and execute test plans to ensure software and systems are functioning as intended.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions that align with mission goals.
  • Provide end-user training and support to enhance technical proficiency across the organization.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), or related field; or equivalent years of combined experience, training, and certification.
  • 5 Years of Systems Administration experience is required.
  • Possess the appropriate baseline certifications to achieve DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II.
  • A solid familiarity of:
    • Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS).
    • PowerApps and Flow development practices.
    • Java
    • C
    • Power BI
    • Microsoft SQL
    • Active Directory / Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
    • Group Policy
  • Proven experience as an IT Analyst or similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Experience working in large DoD enterprise network environments

  • Experience working with DISA STIGs.

  • Proficiency in analyzing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices for IT service management.
  • Solid knowledge of operating systems, databases, and cloud technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards identifying and addressing IT challenges.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Knowledge of server virtualization technologies, preferably VMware and Microsoft technologies.

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A , CCNA, or ITIL are a plus.
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools is desirable.
