POSITION SUMMARY:

The Multiwire Operator is responsible for the operation of multiple multiwire machines to produce product in accordance with productivity, quality and safety standards.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reports to the manufacturing supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Operates in safe manner, following all operating and safety procedures.
• Operate the forklift to bring raw material to the machine.
• Understand die sequence and sees that the correct dies are placed in the machine.
• Follow manufacturing instructions on machine work orders.
• String the copper rod through the dies, annealer and take up.
• Weld copper rod together.
• Place the reels into the machine.
• Check wire to meet elongation and specifications and record on machine work order/spc chart.
• Perform Quality checks.
• See that full reels are moved to the correct area.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area, follows 5-S program.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

• High school degree or GED.
• Drawing experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS:

• Moderate to heavy physical effort.
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly required to stand.
