Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Americas Operations Finance Lead who can lead and coordinate operations finance business partnering, cost accounting, and team leadership and mentoring for BW Converting Solutions’ U.S. operations. Process standardization, business partnering, controls implementation and management, as well as hands-on leadership are all critical functions for this role.

Essential Functions

  • Provide people leadership for U.S. operations finance team, spanning multiple sites.
  • Coordinates maintenance of standard cost data, and accounts for manufacturing variances, scrap, rework cost, through direct engagement of our production teams and produces internal metrics to enhance understanding and establish action items to aid in the control of these costs.
  • Assists operations in understanding and improving production variances.
  • Creates costing models and leads U.S. capex spending processes.
  • Identify and support cost and efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with inventory management on cycle count programs to improve perpetual inventory processes.
  • Lead finance support for inventory strategies.
  • Support monthly excess and obsolete inventory review.
  • Participate in the global ERP project as needed.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and reviews.
  • Participate in external audits and implement any corrective findings.
  • Effectively communicate detailed cost and operations information to multiple types of audiences.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new processes, procedures, features, and controls to improve accounting productivity and workflow across the company.
  • Identify, implement, and maintain opportunities to best utilize ERP and related software to ensure reliable controls, increase profitability, and improve working capital.
  • Partner with operations to lead the annual budget and monthly forecasting cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies.
  • Support with other special projects, as required.

Experience qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CMA a plus.
  • 7 years of finance or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; 3-5 years in a cost accounting capacity.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and organization. Ability to flex appropriately between details and summaries depending on the audience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in accounting practices, standards, and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). In-depth knowledge of accounting principles applications and best practices.
  • Complete understanding of inventory, inventory control, and valuation, including capitalized variances, net realizable value, and intercompany profit elimination.
  • Expertise in activity-based costing for fixed and variable costs in relation to the overall direct cost of a line of products.
  • Significant experience performing and reconciling a complex monthly financial close process in a multi-national company environment.
  • Proven work experience as an accounting manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and Power BI.
  • Implemented financial process improvements and best practices.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
