The individual selected for this role will develop programs to advance the County's Camp Fire long-term recovery efforts and administer grants awarded to the County for these programs. The person will focus on developing and administering disaster recovery programs and projects primarily funded by public, private, and non-profit grant funding sources. Under limited supervision, the person will perform complex technical analysis work to manage the development of special programs for the County; develops recommendations and writes reports. The County has various long-term recovery funding needs and gaps, and the person holding this position will collaborate with, and assist various County departments. DEFINITION
Under limited supervision, performs complex technical analysis work to manage the development of special programs for the county; develops recommendations and writes reports.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives limited supervision from Department Director or the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Some positions exercise direct supervision over professional, technical, and/or administrative support staff.
CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
This is a program and project management position; incumbents are expected to possess a comprehensive knowledge of state and County political environment, policies and procedures.

Any combination of training, experience and educational degrees that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Substitutions will be made on a year for year basis. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field, and
Five (5) years’ experience in the area of project or program management, development, or implementation.

Disaster Service Worker
All Butte County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
