BUSINESS RESOURCE CONSULTANT (Employment Specialist)
Job Description
The Business Resource Consultant performs job development activities, including labor market analysis, cold call contacts, employer interviews, presentations and job site analysis to increase the range of employment opportunities for our student job placement. The Business Resource Consultant is an essential part of a team, who have a passion for improving the lives of our program participants. They are expected to embrace the company mission and vision while consistently exhibiting the expected behaviors to exceed goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Proactively contact local businesses and meet with hiring managers within the community to assess hiring needs.
  • Maintain active business contacts/partnerships.
  • Conduct business needs analysis to listen and properly respond to business needs.
  • Research (Internet, community, etc.), identify and utilize community resources available to identify possible employment opportunities for Students.
  • Implement employment projects to meet organizational goals and grant requirements.
  • Prepare Students to interview for entry-level opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing and consistent contact with candidates while offering professional and value-added career guidance.
  • Manage collaborative business and other local relationships to meet project goals.
  • Responsible for solidifying the company's presence in the local marketplace through consistent participation in networking organizations and events.
  • Strategize with teammates and manager to accomplish weekly business growth goals.
  • Engage in other organizational activities and duties as assigned.
  • Meet monthly placement, business contact, and client quota.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, marketing, and/or related field preferred.
  • 2 years' experience in the private sector is preferred.
  • Ability to manage and research the database and other technology such as the Intranet and Internet.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple assignments and flexibility to work within a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
  • Travel to local businesses required.
