Position Summary:

Reporting to the Chief External Affairs Officer, the Fundraising Manager will be responsible for maintaining fundraising relationships and securing contributions in the form of donations, corporate gifts, and sponsorships to meet our annual goals. The Fundraising Manager will primarily service the areas of the Central and South Puget Sound and Portland Metropolitan area, though BINW serves clients throughout the states of Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Idaho and it is possible travel will occasionally be required further afield.

Full Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects including individuals, foundations and corporations, aligned with our mission.
  • Engage, retain and increase existing donor and sponsor support.
  • Develop and execute stewardship and cultivation plans.
  • Utilize Moves Management tactics to qualify prospects, make planned moves to cultivate them and make the ask, and execute thoughtful stewardship plans that make them feel valued and engaged for high retention.
  • Find and implement creative engagement opportunities for supporters.
  • Assist with annual event planning to maximize fundraising potential and appeal to contributors.
  • Represent Business Impact NW at events and networking opportunities as needed.
  • Work with and educate prospects and contributors to understand BINW’s impact, our need for contributions, and how their values and giving goals can be aligned with opportunities here.
  • Serve as primary contact for contributors, exhibiting excellent customer service and facilitating best in class sponsor and donor experiences.
  • Meet with donors and sponsors as needed, including virtually, in-person, and at all BINW events they may attend.
  • Provide regular reports and analysis on fundraising activities, including revenue generated/projections and partnerships established.
  • Write copy for fundraising appeals, donor communications, and stewardship materials.
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to create fundraising materials, donor communications, and proposals for sponsors.
  • Keep timely and accurate records of all donor and prospect activity in Salesforce database.
  • Utilize database reports and records to inform fundraising tactics and strategies, and to report on fundraising progress.
  • Assist with fundraising planning and strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in fundraising, development, partnerships, or business development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reside in WA state

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented.
  • Strong work ethic and detail oriented.
  • Understanding of and ability to delivery excellent customer service
  • Team player also comfortable with personal accountability
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
  • Passion for small businesses and supporting underserved communities.
  • Driver’s license, insurance, access to vehicle, and ability to regularly travel throughout the greater Seattle and Portland Metropolitan areas.

Schedule & Location:

  • 40 hours per week, 8:30am-5pm
  • HQ located in Tukwila, WA
  • This is a hybrid position, with work from home allowed and encouraged when not required in the field. Candidates should be in easy proximity to the I-5 corridor between Portland and Seattle.
