Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to assist our law firm. It is part-time independent contractor position utilizing the desktop version of Quickbooks. Prior lawfirm experience a plus, but not required. Prior bookkeepers have typically completed our work with one day a week in our Sandy Springs office located just off SR400 at the Northridge Exit. We also pay reasonable commuting mileage. Hourly rate commensurate with experience. No tax advise required. We have a separate CPA/tax accountant.
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, monthly reports and reconciling bank statements. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting software.
Duties:
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial transactions
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Generate financial reports as needed
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure accurate financial reporting
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Proficiency in with Quickbooks desktop and will train on TimeSlips, our billing software that synchronizes with Quickbooks
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills:
- Technical accounting knowledge
- General ledger reconciliation experience
