Job Overview:

We are currently hiring for someone to join our team in St. Louis, MO as an Outreach and Engagement Specialist. In this role you will play a vital role in reaching and connecting with individuals with opioid use disorders, primarily those receiving Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services. Your main responsibilities include conducting outreach efforts through various means, facilitating group sessions, and ensuring accurate documentation of client interactions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a caseload of clients primarily receiving MAT services and conduct regular outreach via telephone, virtual, or face-to-face contact.

  • Meet with clients in the community to provide necessary resources or services, aiming to reduce barriers to access and increase engagement in treatment.

  • Facilitate morning and afternoon/evening group sessions focused on education and support for individuals receiving MAT.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of outreach, engagement efforts, and group sessions in clients' electronic health records, following established standards.

  • Collaborate with treatment teams across various locations, providing client updates and input to treatment recommendations.

  • Attend individual and team meetings with the Program Director or direct supervisor.

  • Represent the agency professionally and demonstrate commitment to its long and short-term goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of substance use disorder treatment and the challenges faced by individuals accessing treatment.

  • Proficiency in conducting outreach and engagement services.

  • Knowledge of legal requirements and confidentiality laws related to treating mental health and substance use disorders.

  • Ability to establish rapport with clients and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Comfortable meeting with clients in the community as needed.

  • Proficient in computer skills.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

  • Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) AND Community Support Specialist through the State of Missouri.

  • Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field (social work, psychology, nursing, education), OR equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of four years of qualifying experience, OR a combination of higher education and experience.

  • Certification as a Peer Specialist by the state of Missouri, or eligibility for certification within 6 months of hire.

  • At least 21 years of age.

  • Self-identify as a present or former client of mental health or substance use services OR self-identify as a person in recovery from mental health or substance use disorder.
