Burma Food Group is the company behind Burma Superstar, Burma Love, and Burma Bites restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area. What started out as a single restaurant with a vision to bring Burmese cuisine to the world, has quickly turned into a family of restaurants, a non-profit organization, as well as a retail line, and this is just the beginning.

Position Summary:

This role is more than a server, it is the opportunity to join a family, and act as a brand ambassador for bridging cultures through food. Take our patrons on a culinary adventure through education, quality customer service, and making sure they have a positive experience at our restaurant! We are counting on you to be an extension of our brand. 

How you can help :

• Educate customers about the food, ingredients and culture 

• Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting a menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions

• Be personable, always greet patrons, engage with a positive attitude and make a point to remember regulars 

• Be a team player, and work together with your team to foster a healthy and warm atmosphere 

• Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude

• Enter orders into computers for transmission to kitchen staff

• Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems

• Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary

• Collect payments from tables

• Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes

• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

• Fill in for absent staff as needed

• Comply with health and safety codes

Skills You have:

• Team Player Positive Attitude

• Strong customer service skills

• Excellent oral communication skills required

• Positive interpersonal skills required

• 6 months experience as a Server/ Food Runner/Expeditor

• Service experience in a fast-paced environment

• Able to acquire a California Food Handler’s License (before or within 2 weeks of hiring)
