Burlington School District is Hiring an Early Ed Coordinator Near Vermont, VT

Job Summary

This position provides coordination in the implementation of school-based and community partner preschool programs for the district, supporting the delivery of early childhood services. This postion will work directly under the Director of Early Education Program. This is a year-round, non-union, salaried postion. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

None; works closely with the Director of Early Education and preschool staff to coordinate the preschool program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison and right-hand person to the Director of Early Education Program, assisting in the development and implementation of curriculum, policies, and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
  • Work collaboratively with the Early Ed Director to maintain up to date knowledge for Vermont State statutes and Federal Regulations related Preschool and Special Education.
  • Acts as the liaison with private programs for contracts, billing, attendance, TS Gold data collection and professional development.
  • Oversee all requirements for Public Preschools to ensure compliance with the Agency of Human Services (AHS) and Agency of Education (AOE ).
  • Ensure all requirements are met Bright Futures Information System (BFIS) staff files.
  • Work with the Director of Early Education to identify trends and needs and provide input on how to fulfill preK expectations and requirements.

Act 166

  • Coordinates Act 166 preschool enrollment for private and school-based programs.
  • Verify and support registration for Prek students in both district and community programs
  • Maintain/update student power school accounts as students enter or exit during the school year
  • Develop class lists for community partners, noting student names, required documents, billing data and attendance
  • Acts as the liaison with private partnership programs for contracts, billing, attendance, TS Gold data collection and professional development.
  • Coordinate community outreach.
  • Track the administration of TS Gold.

Program Based Support

  • Provide support to program based classroom teachers 
  • Support coordination of professional development for preschool staff.
  • Conduct annual staff and parent surveys to ensure continuous program improvement.
  • Ensure building staff are knowledgeable in the implementation of PreK regulations.
  • Renew the STARS annual reports and 3-year reviews in collaboration with school-based PreK teachers.
  • Support classrooms in Sub coverage coordination. 
  • Support with preK placement and maintain the preK waitlist.
  • Additional duties as needed. 

Other

  • Manage the Early Education budget in collaboration with the Early Education Director to make necessary purchases for office and staff
  • Be proactive with regard to creative self-learning and professional development. 
  • Attend all required meetings, training, seminars and workshops.
  • Follow all school policies and procedures in order for BSD to adhere to all Federal, State and OSHA regulations.
  • Be responsible for safety in the workplace by creating a safe work environment, reporting safety concerns to an administrator and adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge

Education: Bachelor’s Degree(required) Master Degree (preferred)

Experience: Working in public or private pre-school settings required.

Experience in Teaching and Leadership in Early childhood education is preferred.

Licenses and Endorsement: Vermont Teaching License with Early Childhood endorsement preferred but not required.

Solid understanding of Google platform including docs, spreadsheets, presentation and Microsoft Suite.
