School Bus Mechanic
Mechanics complete 30-day inspections on the district’s fleet of 750 yellow school buses and other vehicles. They perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on all buses and service trucks. Mechanics also complete routine and complex repairs and rebuild and replace mechanical and electrical components on medium to heavy diesel buses, trucks, and other equipment.
Depending on position level, mechanics may also complete reports for labor, parts, and materials required for inspection, maintenance, and repairs and provide guidance, support, and supervision to other mechanics.
* Higher-level mechanic positions may require additional years of experience and additional certifications.
