Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced 4th Grade ELA and Social Studies Teacher to join our team at Bultum Academy, a STEM-focused charter school with a significant English Language Learner (ELL) population. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in elementary education, expertise in ELA and Social Studies instruction, experience working with diverse student populations, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Implement engaging and Minnesota standards-aligned ELA and Social Studies curriculum that integrates STEM principles and supports the needs of ELL students.
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles, language proficiency levels, and academic backgrounds within the 5th-grade classroom.
• Incorporate culturally relevant texts, resources, and perspectives into ELA and Social Studies lessons to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Utilize effective instructional strategies, such as collaborative learning, inquiry-based learning, and technology integration, to enhance student engagement and critical thinking skills.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction based on data analysis and student needs.

• Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, collaboration, creativity, and a love for learning among students.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress, share classroom activities, and solicit parental involvement in student learning and school events.
• Participate in professional development opportunities, team meetings, and school-wide initiatives to enhance teaching practices, stay informed about best practices in ELA, Social Studies, ELL instruction, and STEM education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in elementary education, English, social studies, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification/license in elementary education or relevant subject area, or willingness to obtain licensure.
• Experience teaching ELA and Social Studies at the elementary level, preferably in a diverse or ELL-enriched environment.
• Knowledge of best practices in literacy instruction, social studies content, and culturally responsive teaching strategies.
• Familiarity with educational technology tools and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
• Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, inclusion, and academic excellence in education.
