What you will do:

The Contract Billing Analyst is responsible for the billing and collection of a portfolio of construction-related accounts for a division of Building Material Distributors, Inc. This highly visible role reports to the Contracts Billing Manager and is a key partner to the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Review customer contracts to obtain an understanding of billing requirements and deadlines
• Partner with project managers to understand project status, to enable the calculation of periodic billing.
• Generate and issue customer invoices and appropriate waivers, including AIA billing and other progress billing
• Manage coordination of time and materials documentation and generate invoices
• Manage prelim notices and waivers
• Timely collection of customer account balances
• Application of customer payments
• Reconciliations of customer accounts and responding to customers various billing inquiries
• Other administrative responsibilities

Skills/Qualifications

• Understanding of contract billing processes in the construction industry
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including with construction project managers and customers
• Strong attention to detail, organized, research and deadline driven, and exceptional ability to confidently reconcile billings and resolve discrepancies to contracts
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines throughout each month
• Ability to work independently day-to-day, while at the same time, comfortable collaborating with other team members

Education/Experience

• 3 years’ experience working with contract progress billing in a construction environment required.
• 2 years’ experience working in customer collections.
• Intermediate excel skills and experience with accounting software – QuickBooks Enterprise Contractor Edition preferred.
