The Contract Billing Specialist is responsible for the billing and collection of a portfolio of construction-related accounts for a division of Building Material Distributors, Inc. This highly visible role reports to the Contract Billing Manager and is a key partner to the business.

This position is a hybrid role working at the Costa Mesa, CA office and home office.

Key Responsibilities

· Review customer contracts to obtain an understanding of agreed-upon billing requirements

· Partner with project managers to understand project status, in order to enable the calculation of periodic billing

· Generate and issue customer invoices, including AIA billing, other progress billing, and time and materials billing

· Timely collection of customer account balances

· Application of customer payments

Skills/Qualifications

· Understanding of contract billing processes

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including with construction project managers and with customers

· Strong attention to detail; ability to confidently reconcile billing to the contract and to project manager input on project status

· Ability to work independently day-to-day, while at the same time, comfortable collaborating with other team members

Education/Experience

2 years experience working with contracts billing required, preferably within a manufacturing environment

2 years experience working in customer collections

Comfortable with technology: solid excel skills, and experience with accounting software

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
