Building & Earth Sciences is an engineering firm based in Birmingham, Alabama, with a need in our IT department! 

This individual will be responsible for gathering information via various databases and creating reports via Microsoft Power BI. The candidate we are looking for must have the ability to develop and maintain these application reports as well as work with other teams to ensure relevant reporting.

JOB TITLE: Business Intelligence Developer

LOCATION: Birmingham, AL

COMPENSATION: $55k up to $80k depending on years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Review existing data sources to create custom Microsoft Power BI reports.• Analyze, troubleshoot, and support the existing reporting process within Power BI.• Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports using Power BI.• Modify and maintain databases currently in production.• Develop new databases as needed. (Knowledge of Laravel / PHP is a plus)• Assist in the effort to collect and analyze metrics and continually improve processes using Microsoft Power BI.• Provide technical support to end users who access Power BI.• Backup any code, scripts, and/or any other intellectual property you create.• Provide documentation for your environment and processes and procedures.

Qualifications

• Technical experience with Microsoft Power BI • Technical experience with Microsoft SQL, MySQL, and Microsoft Access databases.• Technical experience with Excel data extraction.• 4 years of industry experience.• Knowledge of ERP solutions is a plus.• Ability to effectively communicate with management and coworkers.• Ability to provide support to end users in person and/or via phone.• Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced work environment.• Must have a high communication culture and organizational skills.
