TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
- Prepares and cooks a variety of foods;
- Uses approved scientific methods of preparation and quantity recipes;
- Cooks meats and vegetables;
- Prepares soups and broths;
- Makes salads, sandwiches, desserts, and a variety of other foods;
- When directed to do so, plans menus, requisitions food and performs other managerial duties;
- Assists in the serving of meals;
- May assist in cleaning activities;
- May assist the Cook Manager in maintaining simple records of food and supplies that are received and used;
Performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A) Graduation from High School, GED or Equivalency Diploma and one year of full-time experience in quantity food preparation;
B) An equivalent combination of education and experience.
NOTE : Verifiable part-time experience will be pro-rated to meet full-time experience requirements. Proof of education must be presented at time of appointment.
APPOINTMENT : Appointments are subject to the approval of the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following the approval of the Civil Service Division.
