Budinger and Associates Inc is Hiring a Human Resources and Training Manager Near Spokane, WA

Budinger & Associates helps contractors, agencies, private industry, and homeowners to achieve successful projects. We provide testing and special inspection of construction materials, geotechnical and environmental engineering, and geotechnical construction. Budinger has served the Inland Northwest Region since 1976 and currently has about seventy employees.

About our Job Opening

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources and Training manager with a bachelor’s degree in a field related to one of our service areas, or in human resources. Candidates with past roles in Materials Testing and Inspection firms will be preferred. We will be looking for evidence of leadership, effectiveness, team building, negotiation, and outstanding communication skills.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with development of a field training program for technicians to help control project risk. Work with Senior Technicians to coordinate and record technician field training and spot checks according to the program.
  • Maintain a waiting list of qualified and vetted applicants for Budinger’s entry-level positions, using all available means.
  • Follow and direct new hires through onboarding, timesheet and field report training.
  • Oversee and assist ongoing timesheet and DFR review.
  • Encourage appropriate staff to gain new certifications and professional development while working closely with managers.
  • Use company systems to create a searchable database for interactive certification tracking, to include automatic staff messages and manager reports, to prevent lapses in qualifications.
  • Accomplish DOT Driver Qualification File maintenance.
  • Manage Computer-Based Safety training platform, assignments, and reporting.
  • Assist Safety Manger with claims management and program tracking.
  • Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment regulations and engage with our Employers Liability policy and linked manager training programs.
  • Guide managers through conflict resolution and performance management processes.
  • Maximize retention by working to ensure staff members are satisfied with the work environment and growth opportunities within the company.
  • Oversee the tracking of Budinger job sites to ensure our signs are posted wherever possible and collected later.
  • Establish relationships outside the firm by joining and engaging in local trade associations.

Requirements for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience.
  • Professional references.
  • Acceptable drivers and criminal background report.
  • Ability to pass drug pre-employment and random drug screening.

The typical work week will be from 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday, but these times will be adjusted to meet client demand. The negotiable starting wage will likely be 30 to 35 dollars per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
