Job Summary: Performs a variety of tasks to ensure that County facilities are functionally and cosmetically maintained and running smoothly in order to protect county assets. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for multiple locations; maintenance crew members may be required to report to different facilities for job assignmentsResponsible for following all OSHA safety guidelines and procedures Maintains lawn areas; cuts and trims grass, trees and shrubs Responsible for snow removal and required to work as need when snow events happenContinually monitor all mechanical systems in each building for proper operation and maintenanceProvide service and/or maintenance to various systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing and electricalRepair broken or leaking plumbing and restore full use of water fixtures With the CMM assesses when service/repair must be outsourcedPerforms various light construction duties such as framing, drywall repair, painting, installation of building features, and equipment and mechanical upgrades and repairsAssists in custodial duties including but not limited to collect and take out trashdust and clean offices and restrooms, and stock essential suppliesclean glass, mirrors, and windowssweep, mop, and vacuum floors, including but not limited to the halls, lobby, restrooms, and officesstrip, re-wax, and buff floors (will train)Other Duties and Responsibilities: May be called in, after hours, to repair or replace systems as needed in urgent situationsDemonstrate a positive attitude toward working with the publicPerform all other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: General mechanical knowledge and aptitudeAbility to present self in a highly professional manner with a variety of offices and professional situations, by maintaining a positive and respectful attitude, while working independently and in a team environment Working knowledge of standard tools and practices of various trades, such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc. Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions and procedures of typical building trades Must be able to work independently without supervision and make assessments of repairs and complete projects safely, quickly and discreetlyExcellent communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of safety in an industrial environmentPhysical Requirements: Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold for mowing and snow removalMust be able to push, pull, carry, or lift heavy items regularly; up to 100 lbsPosition will require some strenuous activity; must be able to walk, stoop, bend, lift and be on your feet all dayEmployee Behavior and Conduct: County employees shall conduct themselves in a professional manner.
