Case Management

The Behavior Analyst Assistant (BAA) provides client care and case management for assigned cases through assessments, evaluations, treatment planning, progress reporting, supervision, clinical skills instruction, behavior reduction protocols, training to caregivers and client meeting support. All services provided are based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. BTI serves children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the community, center and school settings.

Care Team Leadership

The BCBA will lead and supervise a Care Team that may include clinician types such the Behavior Technician (BT) and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). As a Care Team Leader, the BAA is called upon to support their Care Team clinicians in meeting their job requirements, and through professional coaching and growth support. Responsibilities for leadership of the Care Team include facilitation of growth in professional and clinical skill sets, regular clinical group supervision meetings, performance reviews and approval of time off, administrative oversight of the team, and building Care Team cohesion and connections.

Clinical Professional

The BAA will be provided with multiple opportunities for projects, research, presentations and publication endeavors. There are educational and training requirements that the BAA will be obligated to fulfill, with both internal and external opportunities available. Education and Experience Requirements:

• Required: Master’s degree in progress Psychology, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Hearing Services, or other related field.
• Required: Current PA Behavior Specialist License
• Preferred: Minimum 1 year of experience working with children ages 0-16 in the school and community setting; experience implementing and supervising the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
• In conjunction with BTI policies and protocols, must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior.
• Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection and communication.
• Must have the physical strength, dexterity and control and mental recall ability to perform specific holds, restraints and releases for safety crisis management and life saving procedures.
• Must be physically present at the assigned job location.
• Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
• Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
• Must be able to wear required personal protection equipment (PPE) gear for extended periods of time.
