Principle Responsibilities

Present in front of group sizes of 2-24 youth and transfer knowledge

Turn in advancement paperwork to supervisor in a timely manner

Assist with the set-up, maintenance, and take down of program areas

Participate and exhibit Scout Spirit at camp-wide programs and activities

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area

Provide First Aid as needed

Lead department staff, including admin items such as scheduling and training

Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership

Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications & Training

18 years of age or older

Comfortable speaking in front of groups of youth and adults

Current lifeguard certification (BSA Lifeguard or Red Cross etc.)

Required 1 yr. leading teams, prefer 1 Summit employment

Previous training experience preferred

Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination

Be or become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America

Performance Results

Provide at least one memorable moment that matters to a participant

Contribute at least one improvement to Aquatics program operations

Receive one or more Staff Appreciation Cards from staff or participants

Complete contract period with 2-4 positive experiences

Physical Requirements

Multiple hours a day of either standing, walking, paddling, swimming and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Can pass the physical exam and approved for SBR height and weight requirements HERE
