Certified Professional Coder

The Certified Professional Coder will act as an internal resource for coding questions, internal and external chart audits, claim appeals and provider and staff education. Hybrid onsite/work from home potential.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Monitors provider coding and documentation for compliance with carrier and billing regulations.

- Tracks and maintains records of all internal and external audits, results of conducted audits, and education.

- Participates and assists with external audits.

- Develops and implements training programs for providers and staff regarding coding and documentation based on current standards and regulations.

- Acts as a resource for questions regarding coding and documentation.

- Updates providers and staff regarding changes in coding requirements.

- Assists with addressing certain denied claims.

- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Minimum 3-5 years healthcare compliance experience

- Strong knowledge of federal and state healthcare compliance laws and regulations, particularly fraud, waste and abuse and privacy

- Demonstrated ability in compliance policy and procedure development, implementation, education and monitoring

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, including but not limited to: nursing and other clinical majors, business and healthcare management

- Healthcare compliance certifications preferred

- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organization and problem-solving skills
