Brunel is Hiring a Lead Commissioning Supervisor - Offshore Wind Near , VA

Lead Commissioning Supervisor required for a Major Offshore Windfarm Developer in Virginia.

Hybrid hourly work during construction: Norfolk 3/5 days, Richmond 2/5 days / week.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure offshore substation (OSS) and wind turbine (WTG) electrical equipment is properly constructed, tested, and ready for operation by direct involvement, preparation, and coordination in various testing milestones throughout manufacturing, installation, energization, and hand over processes.
  • Prepare for and deconflict simultaneous operations (simops) by separate contractors.
  • Support Commissioning manager with planning and preparation.
  • Contribute to creation and review of HSE documentation as related to commissioning.
  • Contribute management, coordination and communication between all parties.
  • Contribute to review and creation of commissioning procedures and plans.
  • Coordination OSS/WTG handovers, walkdown inspections, document reviews, punch lists.
  • Create and update daily reports of commissioning activities.
  • Review schedules and progress reports for criticality and validity.
  • Review testing documentation to ensure commissioning alignment with engineering, quality.
  • Ensure electrical health and safety process and procedures are appropriate and effective.
  • Coordinate and engage in HV/MV energization processes.
  • Coordinate and engage in pre-commissioning, cold commissioning, and hot commissioning tests.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in engineering or similar technical education in mechanical and electrical subject.
  • Required 3 years of work experience within relevant field.
  • Experience with electrical safety ranging from low to high voltages.
  • Experience working on construction sites: onshore, offshore on vessels, working at heights.
  • Adaptable to work schedule, locations, and environments.
  • Physically sound and fit for offshore work.
  • Works well in diverse teams, cooperative, strong communication abilities.
  • Proactive, self-driven leader.
  • Site based and hands on construction and HSE experience and awareness.

Salary: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
