BRS is Hiring an Interior Designer Near Washington, DC

Glacier Support Services, LLC (GSS) is seeking an Interior Designer for a new contract with a Federal Government client based in Washington DC. The Interior Designer will be dedicated to this contract specifically and oversee all design related operations and ensure all related objectives of relevant SOWs are achieved. This role will operate primarily onsite in Washington DC. The Interior Designer will assist the Project Manager assigned to this award, and both will report to an overall Contract Manager. The Interior Designer must be comfortable working with different internal company groups across multiple time zones.
Qualifications:
  • Six to eight (6-8) years of design experience supporting building renovations and/or building design planning.
  • Experience working with General Services Administration (GSA) renovation projects.
  • Knowledge of working with federal buildings and clients.
  • Experience with furniture and equipment specification, procurement, and provisioning.
  • Experience performing quality assurance process activities.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and direct the development of interior design and space planning projects.
  • Monitor and direct the technical execution of space planning/interior design requirements.
  • Execute complex interior design/space planning projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight of interior design and space planning.
  • Provide conformity to contractual design obligations.
  • Conduct site walks and client interviews.
  • Attend planning and team meetings and respond to inquiries as needed.
  • Create all necessary design documentation including site drawings and related bill of materials.
  • Assist in the proposal and pricing process for each client requested work order.
Education/Experience:
  • National Council for Interior Design (NCIDQ) Interior Design Certification and/or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) AP Interior Design Construction (LEED AP ID C) or other equivalent.
  • Familiarity and/or experience with Native 8a companies, if possible.
