Accounting/Bookkeeper

Browning Equipment, Inc. is a family owned/operated equipment service organization. We are a local authorized dealer for lawn and farm equipment. Our staff is devoted to providing excellent customer service and believe in treating everyone like family.

Position Description:

Browning Equipment, Inc. is looking for an accountant/bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate needs to have experience in accounting, finance, or related field.

Responsibilities:

• Daily accounting responsibilities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and daily cash reconciliation
• Maintain customer and vendor accounts
• Enter bills into accounting system
• Reconcile bills to ensure timely payments and pricing
• Reconcile daily sales and make daily deposits
• Process reconciliation of cash drawers, checks, and credit card payments
• Manage account invoices
• Process customer account payments and ensure accounts are up-to-date and accurate
• Use proper accounting practices
• Ensure state sales tax laws are followed
• Communicated with customers for past due accounts
• Maintain accurate files

Qualifications:

• Minimum high school diploma or GED
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software package

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift to 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
