POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Provide leadership and direction of a multimillion-dollar business unit, with a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience. Train and develop team members while establishing a strong sales culture. Your interactions with customers is thru mail, fax, and email; understanding the customer needs and ensuring that they are met consistently by yourself and your team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

People Management Skills:

  • Create a work culture that makes your department an inviting place to work
  • Be a role model who coaches, mentors, and inspires team members
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner to team
  • Support and coach team members to improve performance gaps; conduct ongoing coaching for improvements
  • Complete and hold team accountable to complete required training within allocated time frames
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times

Customer Offering:

  • Deliver exemplary customer service via telephone and email
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service; ensure Senior Management is engaged for resolution when necessary
  • Identify efficiencies to increase the customer experience, while adhering to regulations

Financial:

  • Ensure that goals will be met through appropriate planning and organization of labor, inventory, and finances for short and long-term success
  • Meet or exceed financial targets through process innovation and partnership with Senior Management
  • Monitor and make appropriate adjustments to scheduling to achieve best service to customer base

Day to Day Operations:

  • Manage the Rural Orders Department functions and employee(s)
  • Manage and review department records for available delivery areas and to present ways to expand customer-base throughout the state to Senior Management
  • Ensure department is clean and presentable and action any maintenance issues
  • Manage communication (mail, email, voicemail)
  • Coordinate with Warehouse Manager on inventory needs and required orders
  • Respond to customer complaints
  • Coordinate with Warehouse Manager to organize OHS meetings and training sessions
  • Actively aim to increase and share industry knowledge
  • Develop relationships with freight providers to ensure best delivery mode and cost is offered to customers

Regulatory Adherence:

  • Ensure that OHS, LP, other regulatory requirements and procedures are implemented and adhered to
  • Maintain TAP or Rserving and ensure employees maintain TAP or Rserving
  • Ensure AMCO and other government guidelines are met

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Work Experience:

  • Minimum, 3-years’ experience in retail environment
  • Minimum, 3-years’ management experience

People Management Skills:

  • Create a work culture that makes your department an inviting place to work
  • Be a role model who coaches, mentors, and inspires team members
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner to team
  • Support and coach team members to improve performance gaps; conduct ongoing coaching for improvements
  • Complete and hold team accountable to complete required training within allocated time frames
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times

 Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • TAPs/TIPS/Rserving Certification
  • First-Aid Certificate is considered an asset
  • Training in wine/beer/spirits (preferred, not required)

Other Skills and Capabilities – Required/Preferred:

  • Highly self-motivated
  • Customer service driven
  • Effective leadership of large team
  • Strong sales background
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must be able to pass a Background Check
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Strong understanding of store operating reports, including P&L statements

 Physical Requirements:

  • Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand for an extended period
