Brown Clinic is Hiring a Primary Care Patient Access Representative - Clinic Near Watertown, SD

Collects and verifies all patient demographical and financial information while adhering to ethical and legal standards and recognizing and responding to emergencies while demonstrating professional characteristics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Registers and admits patients by obtaining relevant patient demographic and insurance information.
Places patients on tracking board for appropriate provider and specialty.
Greets and provides information to patients and visitors.
Directs patients and visitors to desired destination.
Maintains and coordinates providers' and patients schedules.
Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
Schedules clinic appointments for patients.
Retrieves patient medical information from referring provider if applicable
Organizes, files and retrieves all medical records which will include data from office visit, lab, radiology, cath lab, inpatient visits, and correspondence from referring providers
Responsible for the mailing of provider correspondence
Collects and posts payments for services.
Other duties may be assigned.

employees, and physicians.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six months prior hospital/medical or general office experience required. Previous patient registration and computer experience desirable.
Computer Skills
Applicable EHR, Microsoft Office, Internet, email
Required Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to plan, organize, and complete assignments as directed, ability to deal tactfully with patients, visitors and general public, good communication skills, customer service oriented, and pleasant phone voice.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be sitting and infrequently standing and walking. The employee is occasionally required to balance, bend/stoop, kneel, push/pull, reach above shoulder level, squat, and twist. The employee will occasionally be required to carry and lift, push/pull 30 pounds. Per policy and procedure, for any lifting over 50 pounds employees are able to use mechanical lift devices or obtain the assistance of other employees. Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and hearing are necessary.
Environmental Conditions
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The employee may infrequently perform long reaches, and work at uncomfortable heights and positions.
HAZARDS & RISKS: DOES NOT involve routine exposure to infectious disease and body fluids. The employee's job requires potential exposure to body fluids and waste, marked changes in temperature and humidity, and repetitive motion.
