Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Entry-Level Site/Infrastructure Engineer to join our Civil Design Team. This is a great opportunity to work in a growth-oriented professional consulting firm. The successful candidate will work on various projects for municipal, industrial, and federal clients. In this position, you will be responsible for providing support for the civil design effort on small to large projects working directly with engineers and other design staff and collaborating with our structural, mechanical, process and electrical engineers, and designers on those designs. Projects include both conventional design/bid/build and alternative delivery such as design/build.

Detailed Description:

Our ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities. You will be working with technical staff and executing the following types of work:

• Perform engineering work with the Civil Design Discipline team on water, wastewater and recycled water projects including pipelines, pumping stations, and site layout for municipal and private industrial clients
• Work with teams on engineering designs, preparing reports, construction drawings, specifications, calculations, equipment selection for various project components
• Knowledge and understanding of pipeline hydraulics for both open channel and closed conduits.
• Preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables
• Studies, permitting, master planning, and alternative analysis
• Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspections as part of engineering services during construction
• Conduct field work, such as site investigations, as necessary for various projects
• Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines
• Data collection, manipulation, analysis, and documentation
• Coordinate civil project work with geotechnical, architectural, process, mechanical, and electrical engineers and consultants

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field required, Master’s degree preferred
• 0 – 5 years of experience preferred
• EIT preferred
• Coursework in fluid mechanics, hydraulics, structural analysis, soil mechanics, and surveying preferred.
• Experience using engineering calculation software (i.e., MathCAD, MS Project, HEC-RAZ) is a plus
• Experience with site drainage and hydrology/hydraulics preferred
• Field/construction experience a plus
• Co-op/internship experience preferred
• Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and verbally
• Good written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Demonstrated ability to use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $57,000 - $77,000

Location B: $62,000 - $85,000

Location C: $68,000 - $92,000
