Broward College is Hiring a Librarian Near Fort Lauderdale, FL

Job Profile SummaryTo work with faculty on campus and online to integrate library resources and information literacy into online courses in a way that provides equivalent resources, support and instruction to students enrolled in fully online and occasionally blended courses and degree programs; to work as an "embedded librarian" inside online courses to provide virtual reference services for students enrolled in online courses and degree programs.
Delivery methods will include but are not limited to web conferencing software, the learning management system, online library platforms and other electronic means, adapting instruction and reference services to meet the needs of each program.
Serve as a subject liaison for the academic pathways.
Support faculty and students in locating, evaluating, and using information effectively to meet individual and classroom teaching and learning goals.
Evaluate, promote, and use existing and emerging technologies to support teaching and learning, supplement library services and resources, and communicate with students and faculty.
This is an 11-month (213-day) faculty position. The work week will be 5-days, including evenings and weekends.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with knowledge of current and emerging trends and technologies in academic libraries and support for distant learners. Working knowledge of Open Educational Resources (OERs) platforms and copyright
Minimum Education, Training, And Experience
  • Master’s degree in library science (MLS) from an ALA accredited institution; one to three years of library instruction experience.
  • The successful candidate must have a high level of computer literacy and a commitment to library service to a community of distance learners and faculty, academic library reference and instruction experience.
