Job Profile SummaryUnder limited supervision, the purpose of the job is to assist with the direction and coordination of the programs and operations of a campus’ student life program and/or recreation activities. The purpose of such programs and activities is to support the intellectual, emotional, and interpersonal/social growth of campus students. Employees in this job classification are responsible for technical, supervisory and administrative work of a major section within the campus’ student life and recreation programs and activities. Duties include developing, coordinating, and supervising various programs and activities at campus facilities and at remote sites/locations. Performs related work as directed.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
Minimum Experience/Training
  • Four years of related experience.
Essential Functions
  • Daily -25%: Participates in the planning, development, coordination and supervision of seasonal and on-going programs, activities, and events of various campus Student Life and recreational interests to improve participation and learning opportunities for students.
  • Weekly - 20%: Serves as advisor/liaison to student organizations; ensures adherence to college and campus policies and procedures by disseminating information directly to student organization advisors and by developing guidelines that includes receiving approval from key personnel.
  • Daily -10%: Schedules facilities, equipment, and staff for activities; requisitions and coordinates use of equipment and materials to ensure safety and adhere to college policies and procedures.
  • Quarterly -10%: Recruits, trains and supervises contract instructors, referees, professionals, officials and volunteers for scheduled events, programs, seminars, and activities.
  • Quarterly - 10%: Recruits, schedules, supervises, instructs, and trains part-time personnel and volunteers in college and department policies and procedures, promotion and delivery of programs and services, equipment maintenance and use by meetings, seminars, workshops and training retreats.
  • Monthly- 10%: Responsible for data collection for the purpose of evaluating initiatives.
  • Monthly -5%: Develops student leadership programs on and off campus through campus seminars, forums, retreats, and workshops.
  • Yearly -5%: Monitors and inspects student life facilities, including offices, storage areas on and off site, and student life equipment to recommend repairs, improvements, disposal, renovations and additions by adhering to college policies and procedures for inventory and facilities.
  • Other - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to exchange information with individuals and collaborate and colleagues within the College as well as presentation skills
  • Requires advanced knowledge of computerized systems and operating environments i.e. Microsoft Office Products and specialized computer systems spec
