Under the leadership of the Manager, the Program Specialist provides hands-on support for Program activity and special event planning for Adaptive Sports and Recreation (Adults), Pediatric Recreation and Wellness.

The Program Specialist assists with management of participants, student and volunteer recruitment, training, supervision and retention.

Equipment and supply inventory management. Clerical administrative duties to include database management and data collection as well as ongoing development.

The Specialist will establish and maintain positive, supportive relationships with program participants, family members, volunteers, students, media, colleagues and all community members, serving as an ambassador for the Program at all times.

Responsibilities :

• Collaborates with the YMCA and other local agencies to provide activities to improve community integration of children with disabilities
• Coordinates the logistics of service delivery
• Assists with the data tracking and analysis
• Provides direct client services
• Provides regular updates on program participation and participant feedback to the Brooks organization and executive leadership
• Effectively utilizes electronic systems to register, schedule, and track participants
• Facilitates communication and marketing of services to community including Brooks service locations
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• Associates degree in a health profession preferred
• Strong desire to serve physically disabled persons in a post-rehab environment
• Current CPR certification
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Hours : 40 hours per week
