The Brooklyn Roasting Company seeks to hire a small group of passionate and personable coffee professionals to work in existing and new retail locations. We are hiring for full-time positions in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

We pride ourselves on sourcing serving superb sustainable coffee from around the world. With several new cafes, pop-ups and seasonal collaborations in the works, we aim to expand our already talented and diverse team of baristas.

Our business philosophy is easily summarized: We are serious but not snobby, practical not pretentious, accessible not exclusive. We celebrate the bold colorful character of our coffees,our employees, our customers and the borough we call home. We believe coffee is an inspirational beverage and celebrate the many colorful characters who consume and appreciate it.

Qualifications

• Specialty coffee experience
• Real-world experience with professional coffee equipment including commercial espresso machines, grinder, and pre-infusion hyphenated brewers
• Knowledgeable about espresso technique and comfortable operating, and maintaining commercial espresso machines
• Full-time availability including weekends and holidays
• Excellent communications skills
• Willing to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Can maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
• Able to commute between cafes

• Strand Bookstore flagship Perma-Pop near Union Square
